The Black Legacy Project

Celebrating Black history and building unity through song

The Black Legacy Project is a musical celebration of Black history aimed at advancing racial harmony and understanding. Launched in 2021 by the nonprofit Music in Common, the project has traveled across the U.S., engaging communities in dialogues about race and history through music. By bringing together artists from diverse backgrounds to reinterpret songs central to the Black American experience and compose new works, the project creates a powerful narrative of unity and progress. Their performances are more than concerts—they are immersive experiences that inspire change and foster community.
